Songs by Terry Kelleher
From the Intro, Through Refrain
Sung to the tune of Cradle to the Grave (lyrics by Ron Nagle), as sung by Leo Kottke. I like the original a whole lot, but a friend asked me to stop playing that depressing song. At least this way I could play the melody.
Feeling like this song could use new lyrics.
Leo Kottke's own just get me down.
Feeling like I really ought to shoot myself.
Every time the chorus rolls around.
Chorus
And every verse is all the same.
Same old dreary, never changed.
Going from the intro, through refrain.
I don't think it ever got much airplay.
Every time they played it, D.J.s cried.
I picked up my copy from the cut-out bin.
Cost me all of two-ninety five.
Running up the neck on every measure.
Never having time to catch the beat.
I don't see how Leo Kottke plays this.
What he does with hands is quite a feet.
